Pin Drop

Pin Drop is our take on plinko. A ball falls through rows of pins, bounces left or right at every pin with equal odds and lands in a bucket at the bottom, where a multiplier waits. Buckets in the middle are common and pay little, while the edge buckets are rare and pay a lot. You choose between 8 and 16 rows, one of three risk levels and drop one to ten balls at once. Every setting is scaled to the same 97% return, so risk changes the swings and not the value. Each ball path can be verified afterwards, and points have no cash value.

How a drop works

Choose a stake per ball, the number of rows (8, 10, 12, 14 or 16), a risk level and how many balls to drop, from one to ten. The total stake is the stake per ball times the number of balls and must fit within your balance.

At every row each ball goes left or right with equal chance. The bucket it ends in is simply the number of right turns, so the middle buckets are common and the outer ones are very rare, just like the bell curve of coin flips. Risk level changes the payouts, not the path: on low risk the buckets are close together, on high risk the middle pays little and the edges pay a great deal.

What the buckets pay

Multipliers for a 12-row board. More rows make the edge rarer and the edge payout bigger; every combination of rows and risk is scaled to the same 97% return.

RiskMiddle bucketEdge bucketsChance of an edge bucket
Low0.84×4.2×0.049%
Medium0.46×14.1×0.049%
High0.15×22.1×0.049%

Check a ball yourself

For row j, starting at 0, the ball goes right when rand(j) is 0.5 or more, where rand(j) comes from HMAC-SHA256 with the revealed server seed as key and the message “client seed:nonce:j”. When you drop several balls at once, each ball has its own nonce: the first ball uses the round’s nonce, the next one nonce plus one, and so on.

The Verify panel replays every ball path in your browser and compares it with what the server reported.

Tips for dropping

  • Dropping many balls at once smooths out the result, because the average pulls toward the 97% return. A single high-risk ball is the opposite: usually a small payout, rarely a big one.
  • Start on low risk to learn how the board behaves, then try medium or high with a stake you can afford to lose.
  • Mind the total: ten balls at 100 points is 1,000 points in one request.
  • A daily mission asks you to land a ball in an outermost bucket. It is rare, so drop several balls at a small stake rather than one big one.
  • Choosing between calm and wild is the same call you make when picking a slot; see slot volatility explained or try some free slots.
